Regulations and Standards

According to Legislative Decree 81/08 and the technical standard UNI EN 365, all personal fall protection devices must undergo regular inspections and maintenance. This periodic review is mandatory to ensure the efficiency and reliability of the fall protection system throughout its operational lifecycle.

Inspection Frequency
  • At least once a year, by competent personnel
  • Whenever exceptional events occur (e.g., fall, impact, exposure to chemicals)
  • Before reuse, if the system has remained unused for an extended period
Condition Check
  • Check for wear – oxidation – corrosion;
  • Check component deformation;
  • Check for abnormal rope deformation;
Component Check
  • Tightening of nuts and bolts
  • Torque check with a dynamometric wrench of bolts and threaded connections (according to metric specifications of the various threads/bolts)
  • Check cable tension
  • Tightening of clamps
  • Condition of any moving parts

MAINTENANCE WITH POSITIVE OUTCOME
Issuance of a suitability inspection certificate.

MAINTENANCE WITH NEGATIVE OUTCOME
Issuance of a non-suitability inspection certificate and a quotation for line adaptation.

Visual and Functional Checks
  • Cables and metal ropes: check for wear, corrosion, deformations
  • Anchoring devices: inspect for damage, deformations, and tightness
  • Energy absorbers: check activation and integrity
  • Connectors and carabiners: test smooth operation and closure
  • Textile parts: check for cuts, abrasion, and discoloration
Documentation and Traceability

Every maintenance operation must be recorded in a dedicated register.
All system components must have a serial number or indelible marking,
to ensure full traceability during periodic inspections.
